I was recommended as a wedding photographer to Triona and Sonia by the wonderful B&B owners of Almohalla 51. Almohalla 51 is based in the heart of the Andalucian hills of Granada, and more specifically Archidona. Myles and David are the proud owners of this stunning 5 bedroom B&B which was voted the best B&B is all of Spain by Trip Advisor for 2014! Not bad eh?
Triona, Irish, Sonia from Croydon but from Indian heritage both live in the UK. They approached Myles and David (the boys at Almohalla 51) to create their dream Andalucian wedding; from locating and decorating the venue, a stunning Spanish ranch to booking all the accoutrements required; from pansies to name cards, guitarist to photographer!
On the day I met the girls early afternoon at the hotel (Almohalla 51 – of course) where they were getting ready, and also managed to take some photos of their beautiful little boy. From there we had planned to head up to the hermitage for some photographs of the two of them, but time was against us and we had to skip that idea in favour for getting to the church on time, so to speak!
The service went without a hitch, and the girls looked absolutely radiant.
I was a bit gutted we didn’t get a chance to do some shoots of just the two of them, and so was absolutely delighted when I discovered the soon to be renovated parts of the ranch. I was climbing the abandoned parts of the cortijo to get some height for a group shot, and found an enormous wooden door that I thought would make a perfect backdrop for the girls, and then, there was of course the stunning landscape all around us that couldn’t be ignored.
All in all, an amazing day! And I have to add a big thank you to my two assistants, hubby Greg and 3 week old Amelia who came with me for our wedding adventure.
Here are a selection of photos from the day:-
And they lived happily ever after! XX
