Confessions of a cake addict in Forest Row
How we ended up eating cake, again!
Last week I decided to head to London with my daughter Amelia. I ignored the weather fore-cast of thick fog, I didn’t check whether their was a train strike that day, there was. After sitting in traffic for far too long we ended up abandoning ship and instead having a delightful time eating cake and drinking tea at Maria’s cafe in Forest row.
Where to find Maria’s Coffee Shop in Forest Row
Maria’s Cafe is a hidden gem housed in Blenheim studios, Forest Row. Its a beautifully compact building that houses Clive Christian kitchens, Chadders Bathrooms, The Hairtech Studio, a fabulous second hand boutique clothes shop (Sophie’s I think its called) and this wonderful cafe that we had meaning to try for ages.
There was no stopping Amelia who bowled straight in and directly toward the cake counter.

The Decor
Maria’s cafe is set in a loft, its white, light and airy. It is wonderfully decorated with twinkling lights that make it extra special.

Maria’s cafe is definitely our sort of place, understated, friendly and relaxed, we were thoughtfully seated next to a book case of children’s books which instantly made me feel comfortable knowing that children are welcome.
What did we have?
So Amelia chose a large slab of sponge cake and I had a pot of tea. As you can see we had a lovely time, looking out into the fog, eating cake, pouring tea and reading books.
