Looking back….
My absolute favorite photos from 2017 almost wouldn’t have existed at all if I hadn’t decided to take a sabbatical almost as soon as I had started the year.
What went wrong …
My new year’s resolutions of 2016 were very high, I demanded that I would be great a Mary Poppins if a mother, a wife every husband would wish for, to be domestic goddesses, have the body of superhero’s and have a photography career to boot. And do it all this with perfect hair and make up.
Difficult decisions…
My biggest fear was if I stopped taking pictures, then I’d never come back to it. But I decided to put the camera down for a few months until Amelia started playschool and enjoy these special times.
All good things ….
So in essence I only picked up the camera again in September, but did it with with such enthusiasm that I am enjoying myself even more, and love every aspect, including the marketing, the editing as well as all the good bits, like meeting new people and going on photographic adventures.
Thoughts for 2018…
So here are my absolute favourite pictures from 2017, and I’m looking forward to meeting some wonderful people in 2018, going to some great places and taking some lovely child and family portraits that embrace all the wonderful seasons we are privileged to experience in this lovely British countryside I now call Home.
My absolute favourite photos from 2017
Starting with:-
Emelia
Bitterly cold, and this image sums up our day perfectly, which was full of Winter fun.
Ferg
Lovely Fergus, still at primary school when we took this back in March 2017. Now he’s in secondary school, I can’t imagine how much he’s changed already. He was brilliant throughout, and I just love his eyes and the forest behind him in this photo.
Lotte
Fergus’s sister and aspiring model, only 16, yet graceful, feminine, elegant and gorgeous. I love the playfulness of this photo, and I can’t resist a red balloon. 🎈
Jared
Although I have so many more from his 5th birthday that scream “birthday!!!!”, my absolute favorite is this one. If any of you have seen “celebs go dating”, this is my attempt at a parody of the opening credits line up.
The Reid family
I think I fell in love with the entire Reid family when we went on our mamouth walk, but lovely this serene photo the most of the lovely Issac with his super-hero mummy.
Elliott
There is no bigger compliment that to be asked to photograph again. I loved this one especially in black and white as it captures Elliott’s lovely sincerity and although I don’t use props all the time, I had a feeling that my husbands old toy would be a hit.
Henry and Hamish
This image for me just sums up how much fun we had!
Kaia
Never have I met a happier, smilier girl than Kaia.
The Hart Family
Another family session, but this mother and daughter photo was my favorite ……
